ABOUT ME

I live in Northern California with my husband, two dogs, five chickens, one goose, about twenty-five fish and all sorts of wild critters and birds that live in the Redwoods and down in the Creek behind my house.

I wrote my first book when I was five. It was about a cat. It had nine chapters, one for each of its lives. By the end of the book, Himmer the cat had learned nine important lessons and lived happily ever after. Needless to say, it was never published.

Between then and now the years have been filled with lots of adventures. I traveled the world. Taught high school and middle school language arts and history. I've been a stay-at-home-mom, pearl diver (dish washer) and a short order cook. Currently I am working with my husband on our gem and mineral museum expansion. My parents and grandparents started the museum collection and we're adding to it. (Next week we start on the cave.)

When I'm not writing or visiting classrooms, I collect rocks, sell rocks, ride my bike, hang with friends, and travel. AND when there's time I just love to sit, relax, and read a real good mystery.
